Lebanese municipalities’ capacity building and
local development agents’ trainings are crucial to meeting the current
challenges local Lebanese authorities are faced with. They are also essential
to laying the groundwork for sustainable municipal action in the field of local
development. During three years (2016-2018), about twenty representatives and
local development agents had been receiving a training focused on local
development within the framework of the "Project for Lebanese
municipalities’ capacity building and training in the field of local
development". The participants expressed the need to put their skills into
concrete practice and to be accompanied during this process. In parallel, the
project also seeks to respond to the lack of interaction and consultation with
the civil society when undertaking municipal actions.
