In June
2022, a mission of representatives of French local authorities organized by
Cités Unies France and Cités Unies Liban/BTVL led to a visit to Saida, with an
initial meeting between elected officials from Nancy, Greater Nancy and Saida,
as well as with various associative and cultural actors in the city. This first
meeting has since been followed by various exchanges and meetings with the
mayor and elected officials of Saida, as well as with elected officials from
Nancy and Greater Nancy, which have led to the desire to develop a decentralized
cooperation partnership built around mutual respect between the partners, a
desire to rely on local actors to bring this cooperation to life, and to focus
in particular on the young people of the two local authorities in order to
promote exchanges between them.
